This week Bulgaria's Ministry of Agriculture triumphantly announced the country's production of wheat and barley had reached a record level in the last 16 years. The next time Bulgaria has such yields again will probably be after 16 more years. Or maybe after 32 years.

Bulgaria's Minister of Energy and Economy Petar Dimitrov predicted Friday the country's economic growth in 2008 would be 6,2-6,5%. Dimitrov also said the prices of electricity, gasoline, and diesel in Bulgaria were the lowest in all of the EU.
